WEEK 13
This is how our garden looks like now ): after everything has been harvested. Our lettuce has blown to a flower and we have no more cauliflower in our garden, yet there are still some cauliflower leaves still sprouting. What we have left is our green onions. Here is jasmine pulling the green onions to make our extra credit meal - green onion dip served with ghost pepper chips!
WEEK 12
This week, Natasha harvesting the cauliflower with scissors! It was difficult at first because the scissors were not the sharpest and our cauliflower was super thick. But with Sabrina's help we were able to get that cauliflower head out of our garden and into our mouths the next day. Natasha and Sabrina made cauliflower stir fry that night!
week 9
Even more growth!! The lettuce is bloooooooming. We are going to use lettuce again this week as there is so much. We plan to make a super delicious salad. Natasha and Ashley water and de-weed the garden while Jasmine and Sabrina look up recipes. We love keeping our garden fresh and healthy! Our cauliflower leaves are also HUGE! There is still not sign of an actual cauliflower, but perhaps we will make some of those roasted cauliflower leaf chips next week!
Week 8
The lettuce is growing like crazy!! The garden finally seems to be full and green. This week we will probably make something with the lettuce. Jasmine really likes to water the plants. We take out the weeds very often as there are so many growing now. We also harvested some of our lettuce in the last two pictures!
Week 7
Our vegetables are looking so well! The lettuce seems to be growing the fastest and the most. We plan to use it to make some spring rolls. The weather has been more sunny and dry, so we've watered it a little more. We've also started to grow some tomato on the side just in case we don't have enough plants. Our lettuce has grown even more, but we harvested it to make our spring rolls! Pictured above is Sabrina and Natasha watering the plants! Our cauliflower leaves wilted during the few days Natasha could not make it to school to water our plot, so we are trying to especially hydrate that particular plant in hopes of saving it.
week 6
Over spring break, Natasha came to school to water our plants, as pictured above. Our lettuce has grown tremendously and is almost ready to harvest. Unfortunately, many weeds have grown in our plot, which will eventually interfere with the growth of our vegetables, starting with the green onions, then the lettuce and cauliflower. Our cauliflower plant has grown as well, but we are well aware that the cauliflower itself will not sprout for some time. many bugs have also been visiting our plant and eating our lettuce and cauliflower leaves.
WEEK 5
Our lettuce is really growing! It's already on its third or fourth layer of leaves! In the photos above, Jasmine and Sabrina are watering out plants. We have decided that when our lettuce is fully grown, we are going to make some spring rolls! Our green onion is coming in well, so we will definitely have enough to make the green onion pancakes and still have many stems left over. Our lettuce plants are also beginning to touch each other, so we definitely planted them a bit too close to each other. The cauliflower plug has also seen a bit of growth, so hopefully we can use the leaves to make crispy roasted cauliflower leaf chips.
WEEK 4
Our plants are finally growing even bigger. Our lettuce has sprouted even bigger.
Sabrina watering the plants and tasting the tip of our green onion plant. Sabrina said it tastes very goooooood. Our lettuce has begun to sprout into its second "layer" of leaves! We have decided we will make green onion pancakes for out first meal, but we still aren't sure what we are going to do with this lettuce yet. Oh well, we have plenty of time to decide! We also planted our cauliflower plug!

Week 3
Our plants are looking and doing well! The seeds we threw in are continuing to sprout. Sabrina, Natasha and Jasmine are very pleased with our progress. We can see a little growth in the plugs we planted, and can't wait to see them grow into yummy lettuce heads! Maybe we will make some salad !
WEEK 2
Our plants are finally growing! The seeds that we threw in are turning into baby plants. The plants that we planted earlier are still thriving. We are continuing to take good care of our plants by watering them everyday and having Sabrina sing to them. I the photos above, Natasha is watering our plot and Sabrina is packing in the dirt a bit more near the roots of our plants to ensure water retention, but not too much!
WEEK 1
This is the first week we actually planted in our plots. We put in our cucumber, cabbage, strawberries, basil and green onions. Natasha also got a tea and lettuce plant from Caite. Jasmine made holes in our plot for our plants. There were still some weeds in the back of our plot and Ashley was trying to pick them all out.
